Passengers of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway can now purchase tickets using their mobile phones using the SkyCash mobile app. The solution is free and provides access to a range of additional services, such as paying for parking and purchasing public transport tickets.
The SkyCash app, available to passengers of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway, is a quick way to purchase a train ticket using your mobile phone, without having to count change or queue at a ticket office. The transaction, which takes just a few seconds, can be completed anywhere, 24 hours a day, and ticket prices are the same as at traditional points of sale. Passengers can also choose to purchase tickets with a VAT invoice and quickly refund them without having to go to the station ticket office.
The app allows you to purchase tickets for all connections operated by the Łódź Agglomeration Railway. After specifying the departure date and departure and arrival stations, simply define additional parameters, such as the number of tickets, discount type, and baggage allowance. The final step is to select the payment method and confirm the transaction. Purchases can also be made using a payment card, eliminating the need to regularly top up SkyCash with funds. Ticket payments are then debited directly from the passenger's bank account.
The ticket is valid for six hours from the time of purchase or the departure date and time specified by the traveler. Time-zone tickets remain valid according to the selected ticket option (30 minutes, 60 minutes, 3 hours, 12 hours). After payment, the ticket is automatically saved to the device's memory. During inspection, simply show the conductor the app screen with the "Tickets for Inspection" tab displayed. Passengers do not need an internet connection to perform this procedure.
Tickets for ŁKA trains are another SkyCash service available in the region. The app allows you to pay for parking and purchase public transport tickets in Łódź and Pabianice. Tickets are also available in Sieradz and Zgierz. Other SkyCash services include cash withdrawals from ATMs, prepaid phone top-ups, transfers between friends, household bill payments, cinema tickets, and train tickets for services such as Koleje Mazowieckie and PKP Intercity.
