Starting August 1, 2017, Gliwice will offer convenient parking payments via mobile phone. The SkyCash mobiParking service is already available in nearly 60 Polish cities. The solution covers over 90% of all paid parking zones in the country and offers a payment-for-the-actual-parking-time option, which is currently used by the majority of system users.
We're thrilled to have Gliwice on our parking map. SkyCash allows you to pay for real-time parking thanks to the Start/Stop feature, which the vast majority of our users choose. – says Piotr Bochenek, member of the SkyCash management board.
- TThis function is not offered by parking meters, where drivers have to estimate in advance how long they will spend parking and, if necessary, return to the car to buy additional minutes – adds Bochenek.
MobiParking offers several payment methods: mobile app, quick codes (USSD and IVR), and SMS messages. The mobile app also allows you to extend your parking stay and control your expenses from the moment you enter your parking space. It also provides information about applicable fees in a given city.
This solution offers many advantages and is an excellent alternative to traditional tickets. The mobile app eliminates the need for drivers to carry cash in their wallets or wait at a parking meter, and weather conditions aren't always favorable. Since September of last year, we've been observing a steady increase in the use of this payment method by drivers in the Gliwice paid parking zone. Smartphone ownership is now commonplace, and using mobile apps is a natural and obvious option.
