PKP Intercity passengers will soon be able to use a new way to purchase tickets thanks to the SkyCash mobile app. This solution, currently in the testing phase, saves time while offering a range of additional services, such as paying for public transport tickets and parking in dozens of cities, withdrawing cash from ATMs, transferring money to a phone number, and purchasing movie tickets. The app will allow users to purchase tickets for all PKP Intercity domestic connections, served by EIC and TLK trains. The service is scheduled to launch in late November/early December 2014.
We develop modern sales channels that save our clients time and make it easier for them to plan their trips. – emphasizes Zuzanna Szopowska, spokesperson for PKP Intercity.
SkyCash app users search for a connection and specify parameters such as the number of tickets, discount type, class, and carriage type. After paying with a card or funds accumulated in their SkyCash account, their ticket is automatically saved in the device's memory in the "Control" tab. Therefore, they do not need an internet connection during their journey. All tickets are also sent to their email address. SkyCash users will be able to choose to purchase tickets with a VAT invoice. The app also includes a quick and convenient ticket return option, without having to go to the station ticket office.
The solution will allow PKP Intercity passengers to buy tickets via mobile phone 24 hours a day – said Tomasz Krajewski, CEO of SkyCash. – In many cities where PKP Intercity trains operate daily, the system also offers payment for parking and public transport tickets. Simply pay for your journey with your mobile phone once and you'll forget about paper tickets forever. This is made possible by the convenience of our solution. – summarizes Tomasz Krajewski.
